Tiger of Sweden Autumn/Winter 2013

The latest collection presented by Tiger of Sweden at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Stockholm saw a clean and minimalistic aesthetic contrasted with rich colours.

Themed "Intellectual Clash", the Tiger of Sweden menswear collection takes inspiration from the Bauhaus movement of the early 20th century which combined crafts and the fine arts.

“Intellectual Clash is primarily about exploring the encounter between different cultural undercurrents and driving forces that have influenced us throughout the ages. It’s a tribute to the rebels, to the free thinkers who dared to go their own way. One of these front figures is naturally David Bowie who inspired us with his unique take on glam and edgy”, said Christian Lippich who co-designed the men’s collection with Ronnie McDonald.

The collection, with its rich colours and structured silhouettes, brings to life modernist architecture characterised by its iconic colour blockings and sharp lines. Added to this is the contradictory combination of subtle androgyny with soft tailoring. A colour palette of black and white is given a Bauhaus twist with saturated winter tones of burgundy/ red, mustard yellow/ cinnamon and olive green.
