Ertugral to offer resignation

Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed that he will offer his resignation to club chairman Irvin Khoza

This comes after Orlando Pirates’ humiliating 6-1 loss to SuperSport United in their Absa Premiership game at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Pirates started off well with a lead of 1-0, but in the second half of the game were ripped to shreds. In the 80 years that the club has existed, it has never seen a defeat like this. While Khoza may not accept Ertugral’s resignation, the coach said that last night’s loss left him speechless.

“I have no thoughts; after a result like that I am ashamed of the situation. For this bridge, for this great club, I don’t have any words. I have never seen a disastrous 45 minutes like that since I have been coach,” he said on Supersport“I can only speak to my chairman tomorrow and put my resignation in, because at the end of the day we are responsible for what has happened on the field. We don’t deserve to have that jersey of Orlando Pirates.”
