Body found in Montecasino dam still not identified

A lifeless body that was found at the Montecasino dam earlier this week has still not been identified

The body of a dead man who’s believed to have been aged between 30 to 35 was found in a dam at Montecasino and was later removed by police.

The body was found by a staff member and shortly after, police were notified and arrived on Wednesday morning to remove the body. Douglasdale Police Station spokesperson, Captain Mpho Kgasoane, says that the body has still not been identified.

“The body has not yet been identified and we’re still appealing to the members of the community who might have information that might assist our investigation to come forward,” Kgasoane told DESTINY Man.

She also went on to say that the cause of death has not yet been determined since the body was retrieved.

“While we don’t know how long the body had been in the dam before we found it, we can confirm that it was found in a decomposed state,” she said.
