What has been your biggest investment?
My home has been my biggest investment, which I believe is the most basic and important of all investments. It was important for me to make sure I have a home that my kids can grow up in, and something I can leave to them one day when I’m no longer around.
My biggest investment has been my home that I bought for R1,2 million about nine years ago.
Besides time into honing my craft and business around it, I would say it would be renovations at my homes to make them better fit my lifestyle.
What do you spend the most on now?
I’ve got a production company, a manufacturing company and a business development company. I spend most of my money on my businesses, whether it’s patenting a new product, product development, creating pilots for TV shows and creating trailers for films that are in development.
I spend most of my money on my son’s and nephew’s school fees. They both go to the same school and it’s R140 000 for both of them per year. I’ve had to downgrade many areas of my life to afford this.
Currently I spend the most on investing in our event properties and passive income ventures. Some hard lessons learnt there, I must admit. Luckily I’m resilient and believe that one must keep trying.
