WeThinkCode is offering an unspecified number of people an opportunity to become “world-class” software engineers.
The non-profit organisation has a vision to unlock youth potential by closing the digital skills gap in Africa.
The organisation is offering a two-year full-time software engineering course free of charge to successful applicants.
According to the organisation’s website We Think Code works within an eco-system of public and private partners to source and train world-class African digital talent; as well as provide students with a clear path to employment.
“At WeThinkCode, we think differently about education. We aim to teach our students how to learn and solve problems using coding as the tool. We want our students to leave after two years with valuable skills and abilities, not just a certificate. We also focus on providing access to real world experience through internships and a clear path to employment upon graduation. We also provide MICT SETA NQF Level 5 certifications.”
The only requirements for the programme are that applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 35 and pass the online application.
Here’s WeThinkCode on how to secure the opportunity of a lifetime.
Step 1:If you pass our online application, we believe you have the potential to become a rock-star software engineer, and you will be invited to attend our three-week Selection Bootcamp. Here you will be assessed on your attitude, resilience and your ability to solve problems.
Step 3: Top candidates from the Bootcamp will be selected to join WeThinkCode for a full-time two year training course, during which you will learn how to use coding as a tool to solve problems in the digital world. Students will work in various different languages, and you will be challenged to learn continuously.
Step 4: WeThinkCode students will have the opportunity to complete paid internships with top corporates, gaining valuable work experience. Upon successful completion of the course, you will furthermore have a job opportunity with a corporate sponsor.
