Quintessential British men's outfitters Hackett London officially launched its Sandton City flagship store.
If you've haven't walked past the Hackett flagship store in Sandton City's new Protea Court extension then best you do so. For those who have can be excused for thinking they were walking down a residential London street, as the store concept takes its inspiration from the famous and typically British exterior of Number 10 Downing Street.
The traditional London townhouse feel with its wooden panelling and black bricks continues to the inside, decorated with timeless furniture and furnishings with a modern twist.
The "apartment feel" store provided the setting for the official launch of this quintessentially British menswear label. And who best to celebrate the arrival of the brand in SA but the owner and co-founder himself, Jeremy Hackett? And boy, did the man of the moment make an entrance, pulling up to Sandton City in an Aston Martin Virage – another proudly British luxury product.
Hackett clothing takes its inspiration from the traditions of British dress, without being old-fashioned. It provides clothing for men who wish to dress stylishly and to whom quality is more important than the vagaries of fashion.
Parts of the range are much the same as they were twenty years ago, but as co-founder Jeremy Hackett says: "Our clothes wear in, not out.”
