Online fashion store open for business

We talk to founder of online fashion store www.zando.co.za, Eugen Petersen, about his business and new brand ambassadors.

What inspired you to start Zando?
Research has shown that there is tremendous growth in e-commerce ahead in SA. Furthermore, until now, online shopping was incomplete, insecure and didn't really put the focus on the consumer. Zando strongly feels that now is the time to bring a real online fashion shop to SA. We give you so much more than just the latest fashion. We care about the customer and offer advice on anything. Customers can simply call with any questions that they may have.

Why did you approach Jo-Ann Strauss and Ryan Botha to endorse your brand?
We feel that they are a good fit for the Zando brand. The SA public like to know what they wear and like, so we created a section in which we display items they own. Not only do they both have a good sense of style, they embody what Zando is about: a trendy, fashionable and dynamic lifestyle. It's a lifestyle we can relate to, they live this lifestyle and the public appreciate what they have to say or wear. We want them to inspire our shoppers.

Why is Zando suited to the SA market and what style of fashion can consumers expect?
Zando is a big supporter of individuality and is for people who'd like to express themselves and who have been limited by a lack of selection. Have you been in a mall on a Saturday lately? A growing number of people are getting increasingly frustrated by crowded malls, parking and lack of selection. Zando targets people who appreciate a 24/7 shopping experience, during a coffee break and from any remote location... all that sitting comfortably in a chair. There are already items from international fashion brands online, but this is just the tip of the iceberg - from now on Zando will have new international brands every week.
