Mini Cooper has been dubbed the most expensive vehicle brand to service in SA, according to RGT Smart research
A lot of people don’t consider the cost of servicing a vehicle when shopping for a new or used vehicle. RGT Smart, an organisation that offers market intelligence solutions to the automotive sector, conducted research regarding the cost to service cars in SA. Unfortunately, RGT Smart couldn’t release all the brand names. Below is a brief summary of the findings.
Five most expensive brands to service – passenger (retail labour rate)
1. Mini – R602.27
2. Audi – R583.62
3. BMW – R580.13
4. Lexus – R579.09
5. Land Rover – R531.04
Three most expensive brands to service – commercial (retail labour rate)
1. Mercedes-Benz Commercial – R483.91
2. Hino, Dyna – R452.04
3. Fuso – R442.95
Most expensive province to service your passenger vehicle
Gauteng – R503.79 for retail labour rate
Most expensive province to service your commercial vehicle
Limpopo – R470.71
Most expensive Metropolitan – passenger
Cape Town – R507.22
Most expensive Metropolitan – commercial
