We chat to the stars of award-winning South African film Otelo Burning which opens in cinemas today.
Otelo Burning is a coming-of-age film set in mid-80s SA, about a group of young township kids who discover the joy of surfing.
The film has already bagged a number of awards, including Golden Owl for Best Movie by the Audience at the CineramaBC International Film Festival in Brazil, Best South African Feature Film award at the fifth Cape Winelands Film Festival and Best Achievement in Cinematography at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in Nigeria.

Otelo Burning was shot in Durban and is directed by Sara Blecher (Surfing Soweto). Otelo Burning opens nationwide on 11 May 2012.
Free Otelo Burning mixtape
The film also features an impressive soundtrack from exciting South African artists. A mixtape of music both from the film and inspired by its mood and themes is available for free download on www.oteloburning.com. The mixtape is compiled and produced by Tumi Molekane, MC, poet and lead singer of the well known hip-hop band Tumi and the Volume. The selection features songs from Tumi and the Volume, as well as exciting artists like Zaki Ibrahim, Reason, The Fridge, Bhubesii's Take Away and Samthing Soweto.
