I am currently reading a book by Sir Richard Branson called "Business Stripped Bare". I am learning quite a lot from this super successful entrepreneur.
One of the lessons I have learned is that we should simplyify our businesses. Your customers and potential customers want to simply know how your business can add value to their lives. Never use jargon and too much technical specifications in business. In simple terms be able to highlight what it is you do and how it add's value to someone's life.
As an example, one of my businesses is to market investments. This is done via a debit order where clients can purchase shares in the JSE. I must highlight the value of my product. This could be
1. When you start being an investor your improve your financial future,
2. You are able to provide for your children's future needs
3. You can be financially free and live a stress free life.
4. You can take comfort in knowing that you will not be a burden to your children during old age.
Be able to highlight the key benefits of your product. Whatever industry you are involved in remember to keep it simple. If potential clients are confused, they dont ask 20 questions, they walk away......
